I took these from the bank on Percy Priest Lake. I'm using a 55# PSE Impala recurve. My rig is two soda bottles with the bottoms cut off and attached with electric tape. I'm using an Easton Game-getter which is an aluminum arrow with a line tied on the length of the shaft. I then tie the end of the main line onto a fishing swivel then attach the swivel to the arrow line so that it moves up and down the length of the shaft freely. The main line is wrapped around the reel, which is attached to the bow by bolting it onto the stabilizer nut. The main line is also tied around the head of the bolt that attaches the reel.

For the barb, I've got a sharpened piece of coat-hanger that I twisted into a round coil and attached between a regular field point and the arrow shaft.

man I love that setup... cheap, do-it-yourself, but works. I bet it works better than the cheap crap kit that I bought at academy. Time for me to shoot some buffalo...

Amen, Catman

Although I will say this: I have had some problems with the rig. I've had the arrow come off several times (cheap swivel...before I go back out, I'm upgrading to a stronger one). Also, a better barb would be a two-pronged one. The next kind that I'm going to try is going to be out of a safety pin that I will have to room to attach and have two barbs coming back off the head. I've had a fair bit of success with my rig as it is, but I've also lost some BIG ones that were able to get off of the single-prong barb.

hahaha, you come and bowfish in East TN and those aluminum arrows will last you about one shot. Honestly I don't see how you do it in middle tennessee. We will usually split a few fiberglass during the spring/summer by hitting the rocks. Thats why we buy arrow's a dozen at a time. haha

I shoot a browning baracuda and a couple of friends do also, the others shoot Onieda Ospreys. Retriever type reels and innerloc pro points or cajun long barb pirahnas.

maybe next spring, somebody with some orginizational skills can get a tourney up.

That would be awesome! I don't know how many people on here are from Middle TN, but I have some spots that would be great for a tournament.

Sorry about the size guys..
Hey Mossy, I know it's a longshot but you haven't been on the Cumberland out towards Gallatin the past couple weeks have you?

Not me, most of our fishing is around Clarksville and Cumberland City.

There used to be an archery shop in Meigs Co. that had a tournament every year, That shop is closed but there could be others that would be interested.
