What do you use that works best for you that is free or cheap for hiking, camping & hunting ? Also must you get a cell signal or will just satellite signals work ? Most use GPS I guess, just trying to learn something here.
Thanks for your experience and advice.

My Tracks is awesome. You can record where you have walked, mark spots, and get stats on how far you went, how long it took, etc.

The best part, imo, is then you can upload it to your Google account and have it overlaid onto Google Maps.

I also use MyTopo Maps that gives you the 'old fashion' topo maps along with a satellite view if needed. Great for finding fields, or a specific spot you were looking for.

All free apps.

I use Cabelas reconthe absolute best $4.99 I've spent on hunting. It has topo maps, bing satellite and several other map forms. In addition there are ballistic tables, blood trailing, compass and many, many other functions. You can download and cache maps for when you may not have a signal so you can still use it as a GPS.
