I stopped by Gander Mountain in Knoxville a few days ago. Remington Core Lokt is now 29.95 a box of 20 in most standard calibers. Good luck finding what you need too as the selection is scarce! I came down to visit my family this week here in Natchez MS. Ammo is very scarce and priced high here as well. Shortages due to being scared of what Obama's about to do???

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Yep, result of the election and supply and demand. People are stocking up out of fear and causing shortages and the sellers are charging what the market will bear. Commodities like copper and lead are actually way down so the manufacturing costs for ammo have to be lower these days, but when demand is high, prices will go up to match the demand.

Gander Mountain is always high, your best bet is to buy off the internet and buy several things at once, we usually get a group purchase together at work so we can buy bulk and save that way. Wal-mart is usually the cheapest on common calibers, as much as I dislike shopping there.

Yep . Everything Gander Mountain sells is overpriced. But it seems like ammo being scarce has driven up the price. I hope it'll go back down when the manufacturers catch up with the demand...

Same with shotgun shells, a year ago you could get a brick of federal shells for 16 and some change. Now they're at 25. I don't think demand has changed since then besides a slowing demand.

Better to stack it deep now! Whenever I go get food at Wal-mart I pick up one of the 15 round packs of Remington 2.75" 00 buck or 2.75" 1 ounce slugs. I don't load shotshells so I gotta buy them. For $10.97 or $11.83 per 15 rounds I can rest assured that if the new administration raises ammo taxes by 500 percent (as proposed be Biden) I can have some ammo for my great grandkids sons to fire on Y3K!!!!

Gander Mountain is INSANE on their prices. I just bought Federal .270 for $12.50 a box at Wally World a few days ago.
