Because the wife and I are about to go get into into the shooting house for the rest of the day in this weather, hopefully we won't have to spend the night there, it's on a food plot surrounded by a sage field with a thick young pine grove next to it.

I'd love to sit and talk over coffee in a warm shoothouse all day. Who cares if you never see a soggy deer?

What I was thinking. Everybody talking about their warm shoothouses and I'm starting to think I'm going to have to invest in one.

Not really a warm shooting house, it's old, has holes, and was left over when we got the place, does have a roof though

I'd pay to be able to do this. I know what you mean, though. No, you're not an idiot. If they've been using that area lately during the day, they'll probably be doing it again today.

I'm headed to the back forty. I stayed in this morning during the blizzard because I've seen little movement in it before up here. But, it is about to slow down, so something make poke its head out.

There is 8-10" of snow and sleet up here in SIL.

Lucky dog, good luck!

You are NOT an idiot. Almost every field I've driven by today has deer stacked in them! I'd be out there if I could rain or no rain. Good luck!

Zero deer. I will try again in the morning at 3 deg, and then try to get back to TN before the next system brings more freezing rain. To this point deer movement has been very, very slow.
