It looks to be a 1 1/2 to me. Although hard to tell from it laying down (those are hard for me to judge), it has a small body, little neck, small hind-quarters, and the long (unproportionate) legs.

I've never bee able to judge the age of a dead deer in the back of a truck. I need to see them standing/walking.

next to impossible to tell without seeing teeth. If I had to guess, I would not go over 2.5

Sorry buddy but teeth arent the only indicator.

It is when they are laying in the back of a truck. The only reason I even thought about 2.5 is there is some mass to the antlers. Could have been good nutrition or poor antler development on an older deer.

What is another indicator? Any that you know of better than the teeth?

You insert your finger up to the knuckle and carefully search for the anal rings which are only discernable to those with the most sensitive fingers :D  ;)......i'll bet he doesnt have more than 2
