For SW TN, first to second week of October is average from my experiences. Occasionally, I'll find a tree or two dropping last week of September and they're a gold mine for archery opener.

Pretty much the same here in East Tn , I didn't know if it varied across the state much !

Mid October in mid TN. Can vary a little. I hunt reds up until then

Chestnut oaks drop early here in East side
they drop here early too. Never hunted over them or seen much deer sign on them

Seems the same here in Coffee Co. Only I haven't found that early dropper yet. Still searching!!!

Early to mid October in Hickman. The mountain chestnut oaks drop extremely early - towards the end of September. The deer eat a lot of them until the reds and whites start dropping. Our property is over 60% mountain chestnut oaks, so it is hard to get a pattern on them early. I would just assume hunt the velvet hunt, and then not hunt again until the last 2 weeks of October and after

I plan on taking a hard look the next 2 weeks. From a quick glance, they seem to be plentiful where we are. Will look at several species with the glass soon

About October 15th seems to be prime acorn time. But some start falling in late September.
Where I hunt by mid November white oaks are either gone Or germinated
