I have had this DPMS for three years and been happy with it.

Is that the Armalite? That one is on my list.

Nope, it's a DPMS.

The Nightforce scope is the best scope I've ever had. A friend of mine needed to sell it and I offered to help him out.

I had the DPMS .308 tight shooting gun for sure.

Basically the same thing as the R-25. Minus the trigger and camo.

the Rem does not have the mzl threaded, which I hate,,but the camo finish makes up for it,,you can have the bbl threaded easier than you could put that finish on,,

I would LOVE the R25,threaded,with the Mag Pro stock and an 8 twist 260 bbl

That would be a smoking setup with the .260

The gun shop by my house has a r-25 in .308 Mossy Oak treestand camo, its slick! He's had it for prob. a year. People just don't like that stuff around here.

Remington doesnt make an AR type rifle.
The R25 is made by DPMS
The R15 is made by Bushmaster
Remington changed some specs (mainly trigger) that make the reviews not as good as the originals, but you will (at least for now) pay more for the Remington name.

I kinda wondered why Remington only offered the camo. Im not a hunter but I wouldnt think a hunter would want to pay the extra money for one of these when a .308 bolt will out shoot them. I know my Remington 700 VLS .308 will.

These are battle rifles, not hunting rifles. They would sell better to those that buy tactical toys.
I guess maybe the Cerberus marketing plan is to let Remington stay in the hunting area and DPMS will be the EBR makers.

they are as much a hunting rifle as a bolt gun. remember, those bolt guns were originally "battle rifles". and todays semi-autos will shoot with most bolt guns.

My DPMS LR 308 AP4 will embarrass many bolt rifles with its accuracy with blue box Federal 150 grain factory ammo out to 300 yds. At 100 yds, 20 rounds into an inch in less than 1 minute is so easy to do. I don't know of very many bolt rifles that can do that. I wouldn't knock the accuracy of these rifles because they are not bolt rifles.

DPMS is my choice. I have 3, 2 in .223 (M-4, And a Custom Varmiter I assembled) and a Standard .308 paid 850 for it new 3 years ago.

I didnt mean to imply that they arent accurate. I have both, a DPMS LR308 AP4 and a Remington 700 VLS .308 heavy barrel.
I cant compare the two because the best optics that has been on my DPMS was a 3X9X40 Leupold VX-I. I generally shoot this rifle at 100 yards or less. My Remington has a 6.5X20X40 Leupold VX-III LR. I generally shoot this rifle at 200-300 yards and got it to be a 1000-yard rifle. (Havent got to try 1000 yet)

You might embarrass a bolt gun. But I dont think my DPMS will embarrass my bolt gun. Optics are as big a part of it as the gun.

I think you would be surprised by what your DPMS can do with higher end optics. I would go so far as to say it will shoot just as good if not better than your 700.

I want me an R25 something awefull
Ain't got the itch that bad but close and have for some time.Wanting to find out bit more on the .30 Rem.AR before I let the itch get to me real bad. ;)

I'm more of a M1A guy when it comes to .308 power in a battle rifle. The idea of a .308 MBR AR platform will require additional training pertaining to nose to charging handle teaching to any or all who have ever been a soldier. I think the optics ready carbine is the best choice for the fewest dimes to the most effective and most inexpensive MBR.
