A few days with my boy

Took my wife and son to a cabin in Boone, NC on the Watauga River for a week and we had a blast. Here are some of the highlights:

Thanks guys! We had a great time and caught a bunch of quality fish. The stretch of river we were on is private and stocked by the collective landowners. It's all C&R only as well. I saw some truly impressive fish but couldn't get them to eat. I have since acquired a fly rod and plan to go back. Some of the larger fish I caught(not pictured) were when I was by myself and I was using a small fly under a float on a spinning rod.

It will be a far cry from the reactionary double hauls I love so much from the bow of a small skiff. But I'm going to give it a fair chance and see if I can find passion in targeting something in freshwater....if only there were tarpon in the great state of TN!

If we had tarpon, I'd be totally worthless instead of just mostly worthless.
