A day on Jones Creek

It was many years ago. Mickey Pope has been gone close to 10 and this was many years before that. We fished the Jones Creek, wading and throwing black buzzbaits. We caught a lot of fish.

caught many of fish on jones creek, mostly redeye mixed with the occasional smallie.

We caught a lot of smallies. I mean we had some 50 fish days and had some 5# fish. The two creeks, Smith and Jones were my two favorites for both numbers of fish and quality. They provided just about as good smallie fishing as you could ask for if you didn't expect anything over 5#. We had a lot of days when we probably had a 2# average and that is good brown fish anywhere.

Snakes could be a tad testy, sometimes.
