Raylan and I got in plenty early and heard three different birds, but none were on the property we had permission to hunt. One bird in particular wasn't all that far, but across a steep hollow in another field. We decided to wait them out and see what happened. At about 9:40 a bird gobbled from the woods bordering our field. Worked with him for about 30 minutes and finally saw his head and fan. The rest was heavy breathing, shaking, and making him gobble as he strutted in from 100yards. Raylan shot him at 25 yards and filled his last tag for this year! I'm certainly proud of him. Best hunting buddy ever! And he's extremely thankful and appreciative, which really adds to it. We are so very blessed!
