6.5x55 700 Classis twist

Just snagged a Rem. 700 Classic 6.5x55,1994, anyone know the rate of twist? Thanks Guys

Cant help you on the twist rate, but nice snag on the gun.

Thanks. I have looked fairly extensively on the net, to no avail.This is a low-recoil upgrade for my daughters to deer hunt with( if they can pry it from my hands)!. Just hoping the twist would be fast enough for heavy bullets (160)later. I have some 140's coming, we'll see how they shoot. Anybody else?

Take your cleaning rod and put a tight patch on it and start the patch in he barrel and mark the rod for one inch and push the rod in and count the turns and it will tell you the twist.

pretty sure it`s an 8,,nearly all factory ammo is heavy bullets,,

Its a 1 in 9" twist.

1-8" or 1-9" on 6.5. I was going to build a 6.5-06 and the barrel I selected was a douglass XX with a 1 in 8. Ended building a 25-06.
