I have about 5 acres tilled up with my new tiller in a new place. Pretty level ground and no rocks. Whats the best draw for a great plot ? These deer dont really go for turnips here . Im getting a fertilizer buggy and going to blend in the seed. Thanks

For a fall plot
I like oats, Austrian winter peas, then you can add wheat or cereal rye . 1 or the other
If you are in ag country w lots of wheat around don't add wheat
I am doing the exact thing in the coming weeks and I will add some clovers to the mix

You will get a bunch of peoples favorite plot. Nothing is dead wrong or dead right

This time of year, I would probably plant a mix of clovers and a cereal grain. My wheat and clover plots last year saw great activity as have any fall plots I have planted with grains and clovers.

Im assuming its new, since you are asking for advice....

If so, id actually cut the plot in half and do 2 different plantings to see what your local deer prefer

Cereal grain and clover on all of it. Then half with brassicas and the other half with winter peas. Maybe even throw some chicory or vetch in in one side as well.

Thats what's so fun about food plotting... figuring out what grows good in that microcosm, and figuring out what your local deer prefer.

Winter peas, forage oats, cereal rye, chicory, purple top turnips. Add clover if you'd like. I'd also second a 50/50 set up of clovers for half permanent and the other half a summer plot and then a fall plot. Constant food and soil building
