4/14 Cherokee Lake

Fished Cherokee with my brother and his son. They still live in SC and have never caught any smallmouth. Wasn't long after launching we had solved that problem. Ended the day with a bess 5 about 19 pounds. 2 smallmouth just over 4. A largemouth just over 4. 2 other smallmouth just over 3. Also caught a rockfish just over 15 and a hybrid 6.5 pounds. Caught 2 drums... a carp foul hooked... 5 or 6 spots... 4 or 5 largemouh... and over 30 smallmouth. It was a great day. Didnt get all the pics due to rain

The young seems to be the one that really enjoyed, look at his smiles.

He did. He talked about it all evening and thanked me several times. He's 15... a little big and with a beard he throws you off with his looks. The lady at bass pro acted like she didnt believe him until he pulled his drivers license out... SC you can get a daytime license at 15. I think Eddie was still tired from the nascar race weekend. He works an ambulance for them on the track all week when they're in town. Once he started catching he was all smiles also. He was out not long after we got home and ate supper.

That one largemouth (4th pic from the top) looks like it had something wrapped around it while it was growing - interesting little crease starting behind the dorsal fin. Or is that just the angle of the photo playing tricks on me?

I was thinking the same thing... or maybe somebody "Jimmy Houstoned" it :smile:

It was messed up. Couldnt figure out why but it was both sides of the fish.
