Does anyone own a gun in this caliber. What are some thoughts. Pros or cons on this beast. Thanks.

I want one BAD in a Rem 760 or even a decent wood stocked bolt gun. It has real close ballistics (energy-wise) to a .338WM out to any reasonable shooting range, although the higher BC of the .338 really makes it a better rifle caliber past 250-300yd. That is my max distance anyway, and that would only be after a LOT of practice.

I was thinking about a barrel for my Apex. Went home last night and looked up some load data and liked what I read. Funny how our minds can change. I have always been a small bullet speed freak. A year ago I would have never given this caliber a second thought. With the price that CVA is selling the apex barrels I am going to give it some serious consideration.

I got my. 35 Whelen barrel today and put it on my APEX mounted my scope and now I need to bore site it a and shot it. Man oh man I think I am really going to like this little rifle.

There ain't nothing too good for the wealthy!

Bill, color me jealous. I want one in a bolt or pump gun. There is just something appealing about the .35 Whelen, even though I know that there are rifles out there with more horsepower and flatter trajectory. It just seems to be the perfect balance in my mind...

That's the conclusion I came to. I have a really bad head cold now. But I have next week and a doe tag I Loudon Co. Sure would like to kill one with this gun.

I am planning on starting with a Barnes 225gr tsx. I sure hope it likes these bullets.
