I've got a Winchester Model 70 and am currently shootin Hornandy 150 gr. SST and they are doing fine. Today I got a 1 1/2 group at 100 yds. Does anybody have another reccomendation on a factory round for this rifle? I know its shooting just wonderin if anybody has had better luck with anything else?

I like 165 gr bullets better than 150, they have always shot better for me out of my guns. I like Accubonds and Interbonds, but I roll my own. If I were shooting factory ammo, the first load I would try would be the Federal Fusion load, then I would try the new Winchester Power Max.

I had a M700BDL that loved the 165 HPBT GK over a max load of 4064,,if that stuff would go through a powder dump it would be my favorite all time powder

I shoot 56.0 of H414 under a 165gr NBT or partition in my .30-06 and it loves them.

My load is 56.5 of H414 gr with a 165 Accubond. It gets me 2800 and change out of a 22".

Thats about what mine gets. I seat the bullets at 3.820" I THINK. Either way it has got me alot of 1/4 and 1/2" groups at 100yd. The exact depth I cant remember because its been awhile since Ive had to reload but I plan on changing that soon cause Ive got a few places that allow 250-300+yd shots so Im gonna go from dead on at 100yd to about 1-1.5" at 100yd.

3.820 sounds very long to me. I load mine to as long as my magazine will allow, and its 3.390. I was looking at Hodgdon's web site, and I figured out that Win 760 and H414 are the same powder in their online reloading guide. Thats good to know if you cant find one or the other.

They finally admited it is now that they took over marketing for Win Powders, and a couple of others like W-296 an H-110.BUT I would be wary of going by that with older stock powders as the data was always a bit different. I have also seen one rifle prefer one over the other but that could be lot to lot differences. ;)

Winchester 165 gr from Walmart. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any this year and the 180 gr doesn't shoot the same.
