.277 140 gr. accubonds?

Closest is 140 grain .284 and 150 grain .308 Accubonds. So far, through and through. Most amazing: a 140 grain round shot right behind the shoulder caused the spine to dislocate without being struck, severing the spinal cord and dropping the animal with so much as a twitch.

I would have no reason to suspect a 270 to perform any different. Very very accurate. You can build loads with cheaper ballistic tip bullets and switch over with as far as I can tell zero difference.

This is a 5-round MOA group with a 16 year old shooter who also loaded the rounds for a T.C Venture in 280:

Here is another kind of interesting pic wit hte Chrony results. BTW, we got nearly the exact same results with Varget:

I've got a box of them I'm going to load for my 270 win and 270 wsm. From everything I've read they do pretty good on expansion and penetration.

I have some .277 130gr BT that I shoot H4831SC with. Got some Accubonds to try, they are the same BC and weight as the BTs so I am figuring the same load should be pretty close.

RL17 is awesome for the 270 Win. I have 2 .270 rifles and for the 130 gr. bullets 54 grains of RL17 and the 140 gr. bullets 53 grains of RL17. Those are Max loads and you should work up in your rifle. I'm getting 3215 fps according to my Chrony with no pressure signs for the 130 gr and 3120 fps for the 140 gr.

I use a max load of RL17 under a 140gr Nosler Accubond in my .270 Win. It shoots real well, and both of the deer that I have shot with it did not go very far. Full expansion and pass-thru. REAL good blood trail. It definitely holds together better than the ballistic tip, which was very bad at fragmenting in my experience.

My accuracy/practice loads use 140 SGKs and RL19 and IMR4350. Very accurate, but cheaper to shoot, and they hit at the same POI. I have used these loads with good results for hunting, as well, but I like the bonded bullet for assurance of a full pass-thru.

Loaded a few up tonight for one of my 270 Wins. Just a shade off the lands and my OAL is 3.535". Deep throated lol. Using IMR 4831. Maybe they'll shoot good. We shall see.
