Im in the market for a 270,after the holidays. I'm looking to spend around 350-400$ for a rifle and looking at getting a bolt action package with scope. Was wondering at what kinda 270 i should look at with my price range??


I will probably change the scope out down the road and put a better one on.

if I was lookin for a new cheap rifle it would be the Savage Edge,,

I think the Marlin XL7 is a good rifle for the money but spend a little more and get a good scope and mounts.

Marlin XL7, TC Venture, Weatherby Vanguard or Howa(same rifle). Or you could get a nicer used gun.

I don't think the edge is made anymore it's the axis now. If it were me I would go weatherby vanguard or TC venture. If you look hard you can find a Howa REALLY close to that

This is my list of "value" guns exactly. I'm really liking the Howa 1500 Rancher (20" barrel).

Just picked up a T/C Venture in 280 today from GunBroker. In my hands, it will be less than 400.00. That includes shipping, the FFL charge, the 10 buck fed gov form and the $50.00 Rebate. Yes, the recall, for these rifles, is over.

If anyone is interested, I would hit GunBroker and do a search on Venture. Look for the Seller as AMMO-ARMS, great folks to do business with.
