.270 question

bolt action, single shot or semi auto? Just depends on what kind it is. My encore 270 kicks less than alot of 243s ive shot. I'd get a good butt pad and you'll be ok.

Keep her on the 243. Good enough to hunt with, a lot of grown men hunt with one, and gentler kick from what I hear. Have never shot either caliber so I have no first hand advice.

If you go with the .270, I'd start her with reduced recoil ammo. Helps keep any bad habits from forming due to recoil.

I think that a .308 is a great round for any smaller framed person. .270 pretty close to 30.06 in recoil. The .243 gets it done every day. I don't know if I'd be real quick to deviate from that one.

No IMO 130 grain bullet doesn't kick much at all out of a 270. But sense you asked the question you're worried buy her a smaller gun just to make sure. But I know a lot of small kids that have shot my 270 and its not bad at all.

Well I don't have the 243 anymore she quit showing interest so I got rid of it and is now showing interest again I don't have the funds to buy anything I am trading my bow and the interested party has a 270

Try the reduced recoil ammo. But also keep in mind that the .270 is a long action and the balance of it may be a bit difficult for the short arms of a 10yr old. Make sure that you use a bipod.

Here is an option: Trade for the 270 and then trade the 270 for a 243. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find someone wanting to trade. Just something to consider.
