25 WSM

Thinking about buying on of these. What about it?? Good deer cartridge??

A 25 WSM or a 25 WSSM? I don't know of any company that chambers the 25 WSM unless it is a custom rifle. The 25 WSSM is a good rifle cartridge for deer. Many of the WSSM rifles had feeding issues and are pretty much extinct.

ballistics are almost identical to 25-06 ammo is hard to find and expensive only difference is long action vs short action

My bad left out an s, wssm. It's an A-bolt, was the feeding problem gun related or cartridge related?

the angle on the short fat cartidge is the problem

feeding is not smooth with these ultra short,fat rounds.

My dad has a 25 wssm winchester and it is flat awesome. devasting on game. His chambers beautifully. im actually wanting another just like it. i have heard a rumor that the problem with feeding on early models was with the win not the brownings. dont know if its true though. They are inherently more accurate and lighter and less kick.

Most of the feeding issuie with the WSSM's were with M-70's not the A-bolts but some did or do have them. Sad there almost extint as there one handy short bolt. My uncles M-70 was junk the replacement A-bolt AOK.Still like the FWT better though kinda wish they would bring them back,or least make a run on them,but a 25WSM would be better IMO

i have the win m-70 in 243 wssm i love it. light weight, short bolt cycle, accurate and deadly
