16 gauge slugs through a polychoke?

I recently bought a 16 gauge model 12 with a polychoke
Can/should I fire slugs through it? I'm very inexperienced with
Polychokes but I've always wanted one

Open it to improved cylinder or cylinder bore and see which ones shoots better.

Thanks, sorry for late reply. do i continue to twist clockwise to get back to C and IC from Full?

It should be marked and you just turn it to that spot.
