Pedical damage. He will never grow anything but that spike, or a cluster of spikes, on that one side.

He was solid last year but got a pass hoping he may line out , he showed tremendous growth in this august 2021 pic from the previous 2020 year, I assume him to be 4.5 minimum

Oh yeah, I would shoot that guy in a heartbeat.
Id be happy to take him because he's old. Horns dont matter to me, long as I know its a 4.5 or older. Dang good buck there.

My standards are a bit fluid, but currently they are: if he's 3 1/2 and I like the way he looks, I'm shooting. If he's 4 1/2, I'm shooting no matter what. For my skills, a chance at a 4 1/2 is too rare to pass up.
Aint it great when they come back. I dont really care if i kill them or not anymore, but i get a unique satisfaction knowing they came home (i realize they probably never left)

Agree completely. Love seeing an individual buck 3 to 4 years in a row.
Looks like the deer I couldn't get a shot at last year during muzzleloader. Only difference is the spike had a bunch of junk going in all directions at the base.
Any mature deer is a trophy to me!
