They are going to get a lot of pushback on the naming of the lake. Dale Kelley (mayor) had worked since the late 70's or early 80's to get that lake built. Now he is in really bad shape. Lot of locals want it named after him and can't say I disagree. He worked hard and relentlessly on his "dream"

One thing they wanted to make clear at the meeting was that TWRA had nothing to do with the renaming of the lake. The new name came from the Tennessee Assembly....so all of the people that decided the new name of the lake have very likely never even personally seen the lake.

Sounds like the people that dreamed up the duck blind fiasco and the ones that built the blinds.
They never been duck hunting.

I thought it was funny at the meeting a guy asked if they would be using any of the Bill Dance money, or had any plans to build a bigger dock to help with loading and unloading boat. He said right now if two boats are parked at the current one you just have to pull up on the bank as there is not room for any more.

The TWRA guy's answer was "I was actually just out there today, and there is a roof being put on a big new dock at the ramp that looks like it will hold about 8 boats."

Shows you how clueless they actually are. That dock is clearly someone's personal dock being built at the ramp like all the others and will then will be pulled over to the owners house.

Scary to say, but I still think them being in charge of this lake is a good thing though. At least I hope.
