Took a little over two hour drive to try the 1000 acre. Nice little lake. Can't say I am good fisherman, just ok and I do love it. It's not on lakemaster or navionics. So there is a lot of scouting and learning to do. Was after after sun fish and crappie, so just took my ultra light pole with 4lb test. Ended up with one cat, three bass,(lost four other bass, one fish of unknown type snapped my line as as it took off running.) And one sun fish. Took me ten minutes to land the cat cause my net was folded up and my fishing partner doesn't understand English very well. Only sit, lay down and fetch bird. So he was no help. Had fish tacos for dinner. Will go back again, but just as a change of pase.

That meal looks amazing! I assume you fished yesterday? I heard they weren't biting good today

I caught a couple cats on ned rigs a few weeks back

Me and two buddies are going there this Wednesday, IF we catch anything, I'll post pictures and a report.
My suggestion is get there when the gates open. First couple hours is key. When they shut off, it's like a light switch

I did talk to a guy a couple weeks ago that said he had found a good frog bite late the evening before.

I say all that but I'm far from a serious/good bass fisherman so take it for what it's worth

Yep and when they are biting, don't jack around. Fish like your life depends on it because the light switch WILL flip while you are there. That you can be assured of.
