40 years of JUST flyfishing. But now on the coast I am carrying a spinning rod JUST in case I need an extra 5-10 yards back in the grass because Mr Oyster bed is wanting to tear my boat up , or the wind gets up and makes it unsafe to use a buggy whip.

What knot do you guys use to connect braid to mono? I mostly just throw a popping cork rig so I don't need to make that connection but just in case....... I don't want to be " that guy" that is clueless. Thanks.

Improved Albright. Or just the Albright. Both are excellent.

Double uni is fine but you should double the braid before tying if you expect long fights that test your tackle and knots.

Whatever you decide practice! Tie it a few times each day for a week. Tie a hook on your leader and hook it to your trailer hitch and pull on it. Pull until it breaks. Make sure it's not your knot that is failing when it breaks.

The FG knot. Its super strong and will pass through line guides better than any other knot I have tried. Its seems a little complicated when you first try it but its honestly very easy once you get the hang of keeping your main and leader line tight while tying it up.

Don't think I've ever been more proud of you Phil!!!! :):):):)

Next think you know, you'll be putting a whole croaker on a drum rig fishing for big sting rays. Hahaha. That more fun than a man ought to have!!!!!!

Heard this today from a neighbor
He said " I catch my limit in reds and trout from my GOLF CART IN SEPTEMBER AT HIGH TIDE. ". " they are all around the island then !!!!! I just use artificial and sometimes a flyrod if they are close to the roads!!!!

Whatever knot you can tie the right way haha seriously I think they are all good as evident by all the different example shown. I tie a blood knot because its what I learned first and can tie it relatively quick.
