Picked up an older model 870 Super Mag, I say older because it has the Advantage camo. The question I have is is it normal to have spacers between magazine cap and what I think is called the barrel lug, also the barrel will not slide off like other 870's I have owned any idea why? pics show cap on , cap off and cap/spacers.

Spacers are not tight actually don't touch the cap. Cap appears to be original because its the same camo color. The thing that puzzles me is the tube on the end where spacers cover up looks to be stainless steel

another odd thing is the spring cap will not move, I was afraid to force it but it appears to be stuck in place. I have had several regular 870's but never had any like this. Pulled pretty hard and it won't budge. I guess I will oil it and try tomorrow.

Figured it out the stainless piece was threaded onto the magazine tube, have no idea why. The spacers I assume is to cover shiny metal? Removed the stainless piece and magazine cap fits like what I am used to seeing. If I'm missing something please tell me.

Never seen one with spacers but sounds like you fixed it correctly. If the receiver isn't threaded for a scope mount and the screws are in too far, I'd say the barrel is just seized up.
