How was your season this year?
Hunted Lewis county for the first time. Saw a couple of small bucks and a hand full of does during bow and muzzle loader season. Saw a few does and one nice shooter buck during gun season. Would have been a long shot and getting dark so I didn't pull the trigger. Warm weather, no processor in the county and CWD really reduced my hunting options this past year. I did learn a lot about thermals and wind direction and how they change through out the day. I got set up 4 or 5 times in different make shift ground blinds, could hear deer approaching but got busted. I've been hunting for over 30 years and never got busted so many times in a season. I made a sure to hunt the cold snap and was set up in the woods while it was still dark and 8 degrees. Just as it was getting light I got snorted. Deer was so loud it startled me. Deer(s) must have snorted 20 or 30 times. Could have been a better year hunting but enjoyed time in the woods. Got to see a few turkeys and a walking stick for the first time. Spent a lot of time and money traveling from the Knoxville area to Lewis county, not sure if it was worth it.

How did your season go nso123?

Welcome! I'm from just up the road in Spring City and work in Morgan County. If you need anything, I'm nearby. You are traveling a long way to Lewis County to hunt. Happy Hunting!

Thanks DMD.

Hunted on a lease on the Morgan/Roane county line in 2022 and 2023. Rough country but got a decent buck both years. Lease got too crowded with ribbons and cameras and stands just a few feet off the main trail. Probably should have stayed there but wasn't used to hunting like that. Have been trying to find another lease or club closer to Harriman with no luck. If you know of an opening let me know.

We used to have a large lease in Lewis Co. Right on the county line with Perry Co. Killed quite a few deer there . Got one pretty decent 8 pointer there that I had mounted . We leased ftom Willamette company but EHD hurt our deer density and everyone was getting tired of the drive and Willamette sold out so we opted for a lease I found in Van Buren Co. But after a fallout we let it go . I used to have small leases in Giles and Lincoln Co. Owners passed away and I was gettin tired of the drive as well so I just hunt my little property here in McMinn .and my neighbors property. Welcome to this site brother there are some really great people here .

Thanks DMD.

Good Luck...leases are hard to come by around here. And good ones...near impossible. But, I'll sure let you know if I hear of any.
