Despite the mud and slop from the rain, Twin Oaks set up an awesome course. Hope some of y'all got to get out there and have fun despite the weather![]()
Shew that was a heck of a good time in spite of the rain! We will be there annually moving forward. @Lost Lake it was great to meet you and a pleasure to watch you in the napping pit!
lol small world! We'll have to get together next time and shootIt was fun or sure, despite the rain.
I didn't realize that was you Tony. I was the guy who was right behind you and your buddy (and I shot through past y'all ) on the B range.
Looks like y'all had a blast! I can't wait till my kids get old enough to come with, I don't wish the time to go by, but I'm excited for when it does come.Shew that was a heck of a good time in spite of the rain! Man I don't think there's anything I enjoy more than flinging arrows with my boys and my wife…. Archery has truly been a blessing for our family. How did you shoot Tony?Looks like y'all had a blast! I thought I shot better than I actually did lolMan I don't think there's anything I enjoy more than flinging arrows with my boys and my wife…. Archery has truly been a blessing for our family. How did you shoot Tony?
Well I brought a new to me recurve thinking I may bring this on my elk hunt in September. I had bought it on Wednesday before the shoot and hadn't shot it but a couple times before we showed up. It took me a minute to dial in my sight picture and by about target 7 I was feeling good. The the rain hit….and my side plate on my rest began to come unglued from the riser which resulted in some very ugly flying arrows lol….I ended up switching to my longbow for the second half of the course and did better. I didn't turn in my card since I shot with 2 bows.I thought I shot better than I actually did lol
I finished with a 335, after the steel target bonus, if I remember correctly. That's like a 7.5 point average per target.
Prior to counting up my score I felt that I was averaging probably a 9-9.5 score per target, but I had more 5s and 8s than I remember lol I think it's because I had several shots that were 5/8 that were nearly 8/10s so in my mind I just chalked those up as such, but when it came to the actual scoring those 5s and 8s counted lol
Still a good time!
What about you?
