Plan to hunt public land, this area has no parking lot and just an off-road trails that is gated off and cannot be blocked. I'm wondering if I will have any issues parking on the shoulder of the road. I do not have anyone to drop me off or pick me up and just want to prevent getting back to the vehicle with a ticket/cop waiting or even my car being gone, so I figured I would ask here. It seems like it would be legal as long as I'm off the road and not blocking anything.

I checked page 114 of the hunting guide, they have a phone number listed as 423-587-7037.
Someone there could probably help with your question.
Good luck!

Only thing I see is no firing on or across a national forest road and the wording is weird so I'm not positive if I also need to be 150 yards away from said road. I'll definitely call them to get a firm answer on this stuff tomorrow, thanks.

Got my answers, I'll post here just in case anyone need to know in future.
As long as you are not in the road at all and not blocking any access points to the trails it's fine to park off on the shoulder of the road and you need to be 150 yards from the main forest road before hunting.

150 yards from the road? Holy smokes! So 300 yards wide by how ever long the roads are is unhuntable?

Yeah seems pretty ridiculous if you ask me 50 yards sure but 150 is over a football field in length lol.... And its such a dense forest no way a 22lr or shotgun pellets will make it though.

I've setup and killed deer with a bow while still being able to peek over my shoulder and see my truck.

I really do the best I possibly can with all the rules.

In a lot of places it creates a situation where all the deer are along the roads and getting hit in the roads. Then again I don't want to get shot while driving down the road or getting out of the truck.

I feel like it's simply a rule that allows LEOs to protect people and property in court if a situation arises. If you can't be seen setup by vehicle traffic I feel like you are good. But rules are rules and I still try to be sporty and follow them best I can.
