If DeBoer is forced out or leaves within 4 years or so I would be much more nervous about HIS replacement.
That's how it goes off the rails. DeBoer doesn't have to come in and stink it up. All he needs is a couple 9-3 or heaven forbid an 8-4 seasons. Bammers will not tolerate it. The noise coming from bammer nation will be too much to overcome and it will be on to another coach. That is when the potential for dumpster fire is high. It's ok though, no one in college football is more deserving of failure. Might not happen but 95% of the college football world is hoping for it. GO VOLS

For the record, when saban went 10-2, it was the rest of the country that said he was washed up and done. Its great! All of y'all are the ones that expect bama to win it every year. I think he will be fine. He hasn't even walked the sideline for bama yet and yall are tore up. He may be "rent free" for the next 17 years too😂

Saban is washed up and done. Bama is a major college football program, they will hang around... a bit........Nebraska was a major college football program too..... 🤷‍♂️

If it don't happen that will make it that much sweeter.
I don't know if Deboer will succeed or not but I am optimistic about it. I don't think anybody expects him to be as good as Nick Saban but nobody knows. He could be a complete bust or he could be the next goat. My money would be on somewhere in between.

Expect 9-3

Over/Under in Vegas is 9.5.

I agree, That would be a dumpster fire. But with the new 12 team playoff, I don't think that is likely. I think as long as Alabama is in the playoff (thus in the NC discussion) Alabama fans will be satisfied with DeBoer as a coach. If Bammer misses the playoff, yes the wheels could easily and quickly fall off. It ain't quite R.I.P Crimson Tide yet. Tap the brakes haters.

Yall said the same thing in the pre 2023 season about the season game predictions and was wrong. Some of you even said they wouldn't even win the SEC West and make it to the SEC Championship. I guess if you keep saying the same thing, you will eventually be right. A busted clock still has the correct time twice a day.

When it was fourth and 31 Bama had less than a 1% chance of winning any of those.
Bama fans should have bought lottery tickets after that game.

The pre-season expectations weren't that off.

Couldn't you say that for any given game though? You can play the "if" game with anything until you're blue in the face. IF they wouldn't have caught that ball....IF they wouldn't have got that turn over...IF they would have made that field goal. Anything at any given time could turn the momentum a game. It's simply: what COULD have happened and what actually happened. What actually happened outranks what COULD have happened. At least it does to me. Yeah they could have lost that game. But they didn't.

I could have won the lottery if I just picked the right numbers. 😄

Just pointing out you hammering on Vol fans for being way off on their predictions might not be the best look. If the Reverend doesn't just rush 3 then there was a 99+% chance that Bama wouldn't have won the western div, wouldn't be the SEC champ, and certainly wouldn't have been in the playoff.

Looks to me that the folks making those predictions were pretty much on the money except for a gift from above.

I give him 3-5 years, but most likely 4.

That's all most coaches get now-a-days anyway especially at schools in the upper half of football hierarchy.

Then throw in the fact that he is immediately following Saban at a school that still judges all their coaching hires against Bryant. Following successful coaches at any school is tough. DeBoer will now have the unenviable task of being judged against both.

He'll skate the next couple of years on the remaining 4-5* and highly ranked recruits that are coming in to AL's previous success. It'll still be tough as he runs a different system and like any other coach he'll have to plan around what he has and recruit players to fit his system just like Heupel is doing.

The problems he is going to have is a resurgent Ole Miss, LSU and now TX and OK. TN is coming on and UGA is the current powerhouse. In any of the next few years AL can easily go 9-3. Once will be overlooked, twice and the grumbles will start, the third time and he will be gone.

Look at how many other coaches at schools without AL's success have fired coaches who've been fired for only going 9-3 and not making it to the show every couple of years. AL has had that and I just don't believe that they of all schools (i.e. - fan bases) is going to put up with anything less.

These 2 sentences made me laugh. Georgia is the current powerhouse to VFLs because y'all can't beat them. Check Georgia's record against Alabama over the last 20 years and get back to me. Ain't nothing changed so I'm not sure where this false hope is coming from that Alabama football will suffer the same fate as your beloved big orange .
The only down years in the poll era of Alabama football history was when Fat Phil turned Alabama in to the NCAA to try and get the death penalty handed down on his biggest rival because he couldn't beat 'em otherwise . That's it—otherwise the trophy case tells the story and will continue to tell the story moving forward.

Yes , and a gold mine that produced nuggets never quits giving, an oil well blows a thousand feet in the air without ceasing for 10,000 years….and Bama remains a top 5 team indefinitely…..you bamers….🙄
