TVA doesn't drop Cherokee as low as they used to. Poor Valley used to be just the creek channel by late deer season, we'd catch fish around the exposed stumps. they also fill it up further than when i was a teenager. now you can take a pontoon boat all the way from Morristown to the steam plant at Rogersville. i can remember being able to wade all the way across below the dam in summer . admittedly, you had to know WHERE to wade...lakes are low
