Buzzards must be hungry

Buddy of mine shot a buck Friday morning. The buck had a bullet hole through his hoof and an eye gouged out Which I assume was from fighting. He took a pic of the deer and walked out to get the ranger. I went in to help him get the deer and the buzzards were already on him. They had pecked the gouged eye out and crapped all over him. Deer hadn't been dead 30 min. It's like they were following him around just waiting for him to die. Nasty birds.

I hate buzzards sometimes. One species has caused problems for cattle farmers.
Black vulture. They are much more aggressive than the common turkey vulture. They will kill fawns and calves. Peck their eyes out first.

An fyi, 5 or so years ago Tennessee passed legislation to not comply with federal law in regards to buzzards.

That happened to.me once in Giles . Shot a nice eight point . After finding him I went back to get four wheeler and seen them fly off when I pulled up . They must get the eyes first cause that's what they plucked out on him . Nice buck though congrats to your friend.

Yea, they are quick, they had already found the gut pile before I left. But I doubt they are going hungry around this time, they just like being first to the banquet. Nice buck BTW.

Dang! And I left a buck overnight next to a huge buzzard roost and the jokers still hadn't found him by 1pm the next day.

Saturday at LBL, I had a bunch fly over me then land in some trees about 300 yards away. I had never seen so many. I estimated at least 50. They came in waves just floating.
