Hunters for the Hungry Question

I got a doe I'd like to donate to hunters for the hungry. I've never dealt with a processor before because I've processed them all myself. I shot doe at sundown and looked up participating processors in and near Shelby County. I went to southern meat market after hours and could not make heads or tails of if there was a spot to leave the deer. I was able to kept it over night thanks to these freezing temps.

So how does this work, specifically after hours?

Call ahead to see if they have a way to drop it off after hours. Some don't. I believe Burris's in Moscow does. Since CWD, some processors have gone under and others have changed their rules. The deer must be tested and show negative before the venison can be consumed, so there is a procedure to get all this done properly.
