Alpha Gal is worse than either of those. Gives you an allergy to red meats.Just remember. You don't want Lyme disease nor Rocky Mountain spotted fever. It's best to be addressed promptly.

Most species of chigger are microscopic. They cannot be seen with the naked eye. These were chiggers, there were and still is hundreds of them crawling on me
I was told they were seed ticks. They look like little speckles of dirtMost species of chigger are microscopic. They cannot be seen with the naked eye.
That's a seed tick alright. They are the larval stage of ticks. Most ticks feed three times in their life. In the larval stage (seed tick), in the nymph stage, and then as an adult, after which they mate and die. In TN, that usually takes two years. In tropical environments, three to six months.I was told they were seed ticks. They look like little speckles of dirt
WOW! Did not know that. Well since last night only a few red "bites" have popped up and surprisingly no itching at all. I found some of them and put clear polish on them as I was told. That's a seed tick alright. They are the larval stage of ticks. Most ticks feed three times in their life. Most of the itch comes from the histamines in the your body. I've battle this for bug bites my entire life until a medical proffessional recommended I try Zantac which is a H2 inhibitor and acid reducer unlike Benadryl which is an H1 inhibitor. Zantac is what I initially used, but Pepcid works as well. There are other H2 inhibitors out there, but I've used both of those with success in the past. I've had steroid shots, topical and oral as well and tried every cream known to man but nothing worked as well as the H2 blockers for me. For me this has helped with all bug bites not just chiggers. Everyone's body is different, so it may or may not work for you, but it's worth a shot.Let's say you're on your daily run/walk and you see some woods that a relative owns and you get curious and go exploring. Keep in mind I'm in tennis shoes, shorts, and a plain white undershirt that has been cut into a sleeveless. Anyways you go exploring and you find some good land for Turkey, deer, and ginseng, you ask the relative if you can do all those things come season and you get permission! GREAT NEWS RIGHT? Then when you're sitting on your ole lazy boy and feel your leg hairs moving, so you shake it off and go on with it. It keeps on going and you look down and realize it's the dreaded CHIGGERS ! Them bastards are demons! So I strip but naked and hop in the shower and scrub my legs and nether regions down real good. So with that being said will this stop them? Asking for a friend of course
This will work ... no kidding.Just keep your legs shaved.
Be sure to get the flea and tick kind , I've actually done this .I bathe in dog shampoo when that happens. Works.
I thought Zantac was took off the shelf from all the suits . May be a newer brand of Zantac. Most of the itch comes from the histamines in the your body. I feel a whole lot better. Even though my manhood is gone . No itching other than the left over hair. This will work ... no kidding.
No. They are a parasite that gets INTO your skin. There is a commercial product called "Chig Away" that works well or just ole fashion nail polish. Color is your choice. Just saying. You have to starve them or air in order to kill them. Good luckLet's say you're on your daily run/walk and you see some woods that a relative owns and you get curious and go exploring. Just keep your legs shaved.
Don't smoke while applying the fuelI have actually used gasoline before to get them off. Take a cloth and put gas on it. Rub legs vigorously until the rag needs another wetting of gas. Repeat until you are happy.
Fascinating jessebelk. I'll try that the next time the chiggers get to me.Most of the itch comes from the histamines in the your body. Actually, chiggers do not burrow into your skin. That's an old wives' tale. By the time you get the itchy welt, the chigger is long gone. And chiggers don't drink blood. They liquify your skin with their saliva and drink it. The itchy red bump is your histamine system's reaction to the chigger's saliva.No. They are a parasite that gets INTO your skin.
