Man. 70! And using a climber I assume?

I started getting nervous using climbers in my 30's. I thought ladder stands were invented for me.

I'm not okaying his lack of a harness but I hope he had a medical emergency, which led to this. I hope each of our families know when to expect us back, and know where we're headed when we head out.

I'm 68 and for a while now have decided that climbing is just not for me at my age. When I did, however, I always used a safety harness full time from ground up and back down again. The last four deer I killed was from a sit at ground level.

Sad story for sure. I hope your brother has a change of heart.

I use a harness and dropped the bottom of a climber 2 years ago when I was about 12' up (and climbing). Even though I was harnessed and both top and bottom section of climber were tied together it was not a fun experience. It felt like 15 minutes as I got the platform back underneath me but in reality was probably 90 seconds.
