Yuchi draw hunt

Is it me or did yuchi do away with one of there bow hunts this year?

I noticed that too, it looks like they done away with the 2nd bow hunt and added a late mz and gun.

They are trying to increase the kill there. I don't think the archery hunters were killing enough.

That is what we were told by the game warden last year. He wanted an earn a buck system put in and I'm glad they didn't go to that for sure.

I figured that was probably something to do with it they was not a lot of deer killed on the bow hunt I was on over there last year.

If you watch the commission meeting on it, they specifically state that the archery hunts were under utilized (very low participation) and that they averaged only 3 deer harvested for the specific archery hunt that was eliminated.

They also are adding a youth hunt, I believe, and totally altered the entire hunt date structure. I'm still trying to figure some of it out

Since Yuchi is a waterfowl refuge and the hunt is after the refuge closure dates, I would assume it means the bottoms are closed to hunting.
