Who's taking a kid? Me, my 10 yr old and 7 yr old in a jumbo pop up Saturday am, then just the 7 yr old for the afternoon. Maybe a flash hunt before church Sunday if we don't get it done. We've got a bird the last two years, but now the younger one needs one. Birds very bunched up on plot watchers. Good luck to those who go!

Since my daughter decided not to go, I am taking a 15 yr old boy. He really doesn't need me, as he killed his first bird last year, solo. But, we both want to get out, so hopefully we can get some action. We will be running and gunning.

Taking my 13 year old daughter... She FINALLY wants to go.

Taking my 14 year old son Saturday morning.
I'm taking my 13 year old son Saturday morning and hopefully dbllunger's son and mine will double up.

Had a long lunch and rode through the lease quickly today. One big gobbler strutting in the field right across the first big creek you cross and a flock of hens (8-10) up in the area that I said never has birds. LOL....go figure. Gonna scout it good tomorrow. Plan on being there at first light to see if I can locate some. I'll give you a full report tomorrow afternoon.

I'd like to go tomorrow afternoon and try to roost some but think the kids and I are driving down to Waverly to have an early Easter dinner with my parents, brother, and his kids and then coming back tomorrow night. We'll chat tomorrow.

Wish I was. Don't want to put too much gun in my boys hand yet at just 6yr old. I told him just because he shoots his 223 good and killed two deer with it a shotgun would be a big difference and he can't get away with as much movement with a turkey. Good luck to everyone tho.

Still laid up from foot surgery last week. It's driving me crazy that we will miss it this weekend but will get him out during the season. Good luck to all!!!

20 gauge auto. Surprisingly little kick. My girl was 6 last year and didn't have any problems. I don't let her shoot paper with it. She practices with BB gun and 22.

Did she kill one? I would consider it but just being my second year I lack the skills to bring them in that close. It's hard enough for me to get any in gun range. I think the 3 from last year were blind and deaf. What kind of gun is it?

Got somebody to take in the morning. Good buddy that showed me the ropes during season last year were taking his 11yr old. Don't think it will take too long, but with his calling abilities and my prime location we should be able to get him one right after daylight. I'm gonna record it all.

Yes she killed. We use a blind. Only time I sit in a blind. Gun is a Remington 11-87 compact 20.

I checked her zero today. That's 40 yards measured with a laser. Tru glo choke and nitros. I think that's pretty fair for a 20.
