Do you guys know a good place to find youth gun stocks? I have a Ruger M77 MK ll .243 that I hunted with as a kid. The length is too long for my 7 year old. I'd like to find a youth stock to put on it. Any suggestions.

If I can't find one, I would be willing to cut the origianl stock down. Anybody done this before?

Yes cutting the stock is no problem, just tape good with duct tape (to keep from splintering) and use a good saw blade.

Yes cutting a rifle stock is pretty easy, you can bring it back to it's original length later on if needed by installing a recoil pad.

I have cut a few stocks down for my daughter and added a limbsaver pad to further dampen the recoil. Are we talking wood or synthetic stock? Wood is very simple. The latest I cut was a Savage Axis synthetic stock. The stock was hollow so I cut out a block of wood to fit inside the stock so I could mount the limbsaver pad.

The stock is wood. Did you use a miter saw or a hand saw?
