Got trail cam picks of a doe being chased by a buck. Did she piss him off or was it the real thing? Never heard of chasing round here (N.W. Ohio) a couple days before the bow season opens.

They were flying by and fortunately away from the cam or I don't think it would've caught it.

Got a road killed double the other day, a button buck and a doe that I thought were just together, but when I turn the doe over it looked like she was ready to breed, swollen. I didn't think much about it till I saw the chasing pics on the same day. They were 20 miles apart.

I've seen does on my cam this year but no bucks. I didn't mind much knowing they'd show, never thought I see them doing this now.

The rut is obviously on....yipeeee! Actually, just kidding about that. More than likely you witnessed a buck that is "feeling His oats" from a rise in testosterone levels and a doe that wasn't in the mood and trying to get away. Similar to a sailor that just got off the boat and hit the first bar he came across and hitting on the first pretty girl he saw that wasn't interested in his bs. :)

A buck will chase a doe occassionally anytime after he sheds velvet. Testosterone levels are steadily increasing right now. It isnt uncommon to see bucks chasing, following or harassing does this time of year.

You figure we're only about 2-3 weeks from when the bucks are going to start scent trailing, and following does, and some early does will be getting bred.

i saw two bucks this morning together, and on most of the pics on my cams that has a buck in it(except lil freaky), he isnt alone, so here in east central indiana it seems they are still grouped up.....
