Been seeing coyotes every evening literally at my parents house in a cut field. Young dogs. Think they would respond to a distress call this time of year? Missed on at 197 yards with the 17 hmr

If you can see them you dont need to call them closer if they are inside 250 or so. Get a suitable rifle-223 perfect or pretty much any deer rifle-sight it in about an inch and a half high at 100 and you will be good to 200 or a little more depending on height of optics. The 17 hmr is not a coyote rifle at 200 yds. Make sure it is safe behind the coyotes.

Field turned brown since cutting and I guess between the coyotes buzzards crows and hawks all the little dead mice and rats are gone. Still hearing the coyotes but I believe I missed my chance. I even went and sighted in my 243 I bought last year which I had not shot yet.... It's a rem 700 sps ss with a zeiss conquest 3x9x40. 200 yards zero with 1.5 something group. Gun out shoots me. Hopefully they will start showing their faces again!!!!

Perfect setup. I have a cva scout 243 single shot. It's a lil short gun perfect to carry around but I'm wanting a dpms 243 AR.
