Shoot the yote's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a trapper friend who puts them out all winter long and usually gets about 25 per season off our 3030 lease.

I haven't tried hunting coyotes yet. Just moved to TN about 4 weeks ago, only hunted deer up in CT. Definitely plan to thin them out a bit, I hear them almost every night. I've had one right outside the house a couple times. I haven't seen them at all during the day though, so not sure how active they are. I was thinking it might be a good time to learn to trap.

My wife said she was driving around town today and witnessed a coyote ripping apart a deer while its legs were still kicking. I swear those things are brutal. Can't wait till I can get off work to get after some.

I was hunting midseason in KY about 10 years ago when a deer comes out of a thicket and does a funny jig every which way all over a heavily browsed clover field before darting back into the thicket at a different spot.

It seemed really bizarre. Then seconds later a large coyote appeared at the exact spot where the deer had appeared. Sure enough, he couldn't track her path around the clover plot, although he tried, and gave up.

I figure so many deer left sent recently all over the clover it made it difficult for the coyote to distinguish and follow the one he was chasing. I guess instinctively the deer must have known that.
