These two coyotes were expecting to eat persimmons, but found an opossum had already claimed the area... I am surprised they didn't kill and eat the lil guy....

My money's on the possum. Mean little bastages.

Pretty sure coyotes can and do kill and eat possums. They probably just wanted the easier meal. Yotes do like fruit, they hit my pears this time of year.
May just be me, but looks like the tail is curled up on the dog in the first pic. I was told pure coyotes tail will have no curl, that if you see curl, that it has some domestic dog bred into it.
