USA hit a home run in top of 8th. Down by 1. 2-3

I watched the last 2 1/2 innings. Had a World Series game-type feel. I don't know why, but I was sucked in trying to pull the US team through.

The last at-bat was epic.

I just knew Trout was going to homer off of Ohtani. I'm not a MLB fan, so I had no idea who he was until that at-bat. Did not know they were teammates playing for the Angels.

But, Ohtani got the best of him with the K.

I don't know what the difference was, but it was more exciting than a regular mlb game. Seemed to move faster and kept my attention.

I think there are two reasons.

1) The crowd was large and into the game, and Japan seemed to have as many fans as the US
2) The players cared about the game, which fed the crowd, which fed the players, ... repeat.

I didn't get to watch a ton but I've heard it was a great series and I wish the USA could have pulled it out. I watched a couple innings of the championship game but missed the end.
Ohtani must be the real deal, generational type ball player
