woody teal decoy question

new to woody/teal hunting. will they come into mallard decoys also ? only kind of decoys I have. any been seen in east tn?

Both will decoy to mallards. They aren't very wary right now, as they haven't been hunted in a good while.

I've seen wood ducks land in and around decoys, but they dont really "decoy" like many other ducks. Wood duck hunting is either jump shooting or akin to a dove shoot. Teal will decoy (mallard decoy or otherwise) and work to a call. But I wouldn't expect too many in the mountains.

I've yet to spot a teal thus far on 3 scouting trips. Few woodies around as always. We will see what the morning holds. Just remember to only use mallard hens as the drakes have no plumage currently.
