Catman, I still catch myself pulled into forum arguments from time to time, and it's usually to defend a post that someone has taken issue with, whether it's mine or someone else's. Unfortunately, much of the time after the thread has unraveled, I don't feel like the truth has been vindicated or that there was a good, respectful and informed debate. Probably would've best just left it alone, and kept things in perspective.
We all get passionate about what we're passionate about, though. As an exercise in being positive and hopeful for my fellow man, I check out forums to (hopefully) learn from other folks wisdom and mistakes. It happens occasionally. ;-) However, even though RESPECT when both posting and reading posts should always be job #1, the impersonal nature of the internet seems to be fertile ground for both misunderstandings and careless trash talk. I try to give folks benefit of the doubt, though. There are no laws against posting while under the influence, posting before having morning coffee, posting in the middle of the night because of insomnia, posting after getting the cold shoulder from your woman ....you get the idea.
By the way though, since getting back on here after my four or so year sabbatical from hunting, your posts aren't in the camp that I steer clear of. Keep 'em coming.
