Only around 2000 model 70s were made in this configuration. I bought it new for a birthday present to myself when I turned 21 in 1973. The serial number places it with a 1971 manufacture date. I hunted and killed a few deer with it, so it has does have some handling marks. The worst one being on the underside of the forearm (see pic) caused by a d**n warren and sweat climber. That's a B&L Baltor B scope....2.5 power on a Buehler one piece mount.
For your consideration $2500 face to face.

Beautiful gun. How'd it shoot? I've often wondered without the free floating barrel how that affects the accuracy.

While I haven't shot it in years, I remember having exceptional accuracy with both factory and reloaded ammo. Occasional under one inch group was obtained even with that 2.5x scope. One other thing, that B&L scope on those buehler mounts really held it's zero well.

Wobblyshot1, I also bought a model 70 Mannlicher in 1973 I was 18, mine was in the 243 caliber. I don't believe they made these rifles but a couple years, 1969-1971. Definitely rare and beautiful rifles. GLWS
You're the only one close by that I know of that has one. Your dates are spot on. I used to look on gun completed auctions to try to determine a value, but I've never seen one on any of the sites until recently.
