Anyone ever hunted the quota hunt or the early youth hunt down there? Just wondering how if you select your own spot or if you are given a spot to hunt? Any info on the WMA would be welcome.

I have never been there but will need to scout it soon - got drawn for 2 of the gun hunts and have heard good things about the place.

Same here, I live in Columbia and hunted an area near there when I was younger that used to be an old phosphate mining company called Monsanto very similar to the WMA. I have fished it alot but never hunted it for anything other than squirrels, thought I would give it a shot since it was so close this year. I have the first and third gun hunts I believe. I think I might take my son on the youth hunts to give me a chance to scout around some as well. Good luck to you.

Its not a bad place. Dad used to take my nephews on the youth hunt. he killed his first few deer there. You pick your own spots.

I've hunted the quota hunts there the last 3 years and this will be year four.
You are not assigned areas, you just drive around a pick your own spots.
Get good maps as there is access on the east side of the properties off of public roads.
There are flats, hollows and any other type of terrain you could want.
You'll have a great time there!

The two early juvenile weekends were a bust, no deer killed the first weekend and only a small doe as of Saturday on the second weekend. Not Sure if anything was killed that sunday. We did see a small 6pt and 2 does but couldnt get a shot.
