I had two different does blowing at daylight this morning hundreds of yards away in opposite directions and in the opposite direction of where my wind was blowing. I don't think any other hunters around. I really don't think they winded me and we're very far off. Has anyone ever seen a doe blowing b/c they were being chased?

this has happened to me twice this year. yes, it was because of other deer or whatever else was startling them.

i saw it happen once so i knew it wasn't me and heard the other time, different wind direction and i was in a box blind with tinted windows.. no way she could saw me.

Yes, and sometimes they just seem to blow for no reason. It is not always becauase they smell you.

I was coming in here to post that sometimes they just blow at nothing but hitek beat me to it :)

I also had a young 4 pt come in to a grunt call a couple of years ago. He came all the way to my tree, turned around, then blew...like, "here I am, come get u some!" Did that a couple of times, then headed back the way he was going to begin with.

Are you hunting hilly country? It's possible that there was a backdraft of your scent if so. Otherwise, no telling what they blow at.

I've had a buck hot on a doe's heels and have to stop to grab a minutes breather while the doe ran off another 100 yards or so before stopping. When the buck didn't follow she bleated to him. When he still didn't follow she literally came back after him before the chase could resume.

I've seen deer blow at raccoons. Blowing is just part of their vocabulary. It doesn't always mean they are blowing at you.
