Wildgame Innovations trail cameras

I am looking to get a couple trail cams for our lease and was wondering if anyone has used any of the ones made by Wildgame Innovations? Academy has a pack of two for $89. They also have some better quality ones for more money. I am not looking to spend a fortune but on the other hand I don't want to waste my hard earned money on junk either.

I am wondering about them myself. I believe these could be the same ones wal-mart has for $50 each. Are they digital 1.3mp infared?

I Normally stay away from bottom of the line stuff, but I had to try a Bushnell 2.0 megpixel I saw at Wal MArt last year for $35. The pics are a little grainy, and the controls are a little hard to set, but the camera itself works quite well.

Ive got one of the Wildame Innovations IR4 cameras. Its 4 megapixel with infrared flash. It takes great pics and has a real good trigger speed but battery life isnt that great. I got maybe 2 weeks out of mine (4 C batteries).

I bought the IR4 over the weekend and put it out yesterday. I plan to go back about Wednesday and check on it and swap the sd card. I will hopefully have some pics to post on here.

I use the S2, similar to the 1.3 @ walmart. So far I have had great luck with them. Went about three weeks with duracells and got 300+ pics. A few were dark, maybe 4. So far great buy for the money.I didnt need a high quality pic... I just needed to see them!!

i have the 50$$ one from wal mart and it actually works pretty good, but after a few weeks in the woods it seems the flash doesnt always work..i think the batteries have to be brand new for it to work properly, but other than a bunch of dark pics at night i have gotten hundreds of pics of big deer i had no idea was out there

Another positive post for the IR4. Great quality of daylight pics and I'm satisfied with the IR ones as well. I think they are $89-99.

bad reviews on this cam find the moultrie that uses a 6 volt battery i get little over a month out of mine they are still on ebay

I have the Wildgame Innovations trail cameras IR4 and S2 - S2 is very low end. I also have a Bushnell 5.0 and a Cuddyback IR. I would say the best pics are from the IR4, then the Bushnell. The Cuddyback was great 3 years ago bust also 3x more expensive. It is just a bit worn out now. I would stay away from the S2.

IMHO - I would buy 3 of the IR4's before I buy 1 of the Cuddybacks again.

try the Tasco brand from Wallyworld. The are the same as Bushnell but lower cost. I got 2 of them back in November, i think 50/pc.

I had the wildgame innovations before them from Dicks, 2 pack for 89 bucks. they worked maybe a month, then i found after it rained the batteries were wet.

I have 2 IR4's and one S2. One IR4 is the best camera I've ever bought takes great pics and gives long battery life. Over a month with several hundred pics.

The other IR4 takes great pics but the batteries only last 8-10 days. The S2 lasted about 2 months and now it shows low battery all the time even with brand new ones installed.

Now I am confused, check the buyer reviews on the sellers websites and these things get trashed???

You'll find that every cheap brand of trail-cam gets trashed, and for good reason. If you happen to get one that works (about a 7 in 10 chance), you'll like it. If you happen to get one that doesn't, you'll hate it.

That's the problem with the cheap cams. They have very high initial (right out of the box) failure rate as well as high in-the-field failure rates. But if you happen to get a good one that lasts for an entire season, you will probably like it.

For the life of me, I know of no other product that has such high failure rates and still stays in business, but when it comes to trail-cameras it seems people will buy the snot out of cheap trail-cams even though they run a real high risk of getting a poor quality product.

I bought a 6 pack of Wildgame Innovations Camera's and IMO they work just fine. My batteries last about 3 to 4 weeks and I haven't had one problem with them. I did buy 6 1mg cards so that I just trade them out. I use mine year round. There are a lot of trail camera's out just shop around. I learned by trail and error. Good Luck...

Again, IF YOU GET A GOOD ONE you'll like many of the cheaper cameras. From what I've seen, when they work, I really like the Wildview cameras. I recommend them as a good "starter" cam. The problem is, most companies are seeing a 30% out-of-the-box failure rate. But for many, it's worth it for only $50-90 invested even if you have to return a camera or two, or have cameras fail after a month or two of use.

You can buy a bunch of Wildview cameras for the price of a single "quality" cam.

My IR4 works great. Had it since 20 Dec '09. I know... Barely a month. It has survived the 3rd coldest start to winter on record for Tennessee.

Plan on throwing the dice and buying another one.

I read a review that said the're two different IR4 models; one with watch batteries for date/time stamp and one without. Fellow said be sure to get the one with. Also learned the hard way the IR4 only excepts up to 4 GB cards. Plenty for me as I retrieve it bi-monthly.

At about $75-90 per camera, you can go through plenty of failures and still come out ahead compared to a top-end camera that runs $600+!

The 6 volt from moultrie doesnt hold a candle to the newer ones using 6 d's....they have auto shut off and the batts last close to 60 days.

so far I have a 2010 model of the Ir4 out and its taken close to 900 photos...its been out for nearly 1 month and the batteries were at 3/4 full two days ago. For having this camera were I do it fits the bill nicely. If it gets stolen/or just quits I am not out much. If I get a solid year out of it great. Mine lights up the night very well. better then my sg or bushnell cams

and I just got a ir8 in yesterday hope to get good results out of it too.

I have the IR4 and love it!! I have great battery life out of mine!! 4 c batteries last me about 6 wks or longer in the woods.. Great pictures. I like the video also!!

The wildgame cameras take decent pics but are horrible on batteries. I have the exterior battery pack and it works good.

I have the ir4 and it worked great but where you put the batteries the plastic behind the springs broke I called wildgame and the fixed it for nothing and I had the camera about 2yrs. They have great customer service.

Great customer service!! I had mine for little over a year(IR4) and the flash stopped working! I sent it in and they sent me two back!! They gave me a free one!! The camera is awesome and takes great pictures!!! Can't beat it for the price!!
