This morning we were both out hunting. I was in our tree stand and wife was in a ground blind about 130 yards away. About 7 am noticed a deer working towards me but the brush prevented me from shooting and the buck was facing me. He started to walk to the right which was perfect then stopped, turned around, and headed towards the wife. I was hoping she would get lucky and the buck would work his way towards her when I heard the crack of her ML. She said it was about a 30 yard shot and she hit it in the heart. He ran about 40 yards and dropped but she didn't know it. She reloaded her ML, relaxed a few minutes then went out and seen the blood trail and there he was. Nice 6 pointer. Am sure he will taste good.
This is a special deer for both of us as it was shot on our property and her first TN deer since we moved here to retire last year. We spent the last year scouting around, building a blind, erecting a tree stand, learning their patterns and routes they traveled, etc. Very rewarding for both of us. Seen about 8 other deer but to far away to attempt a shot in the brush.
May the rest of you be successful as well.
Cheers
