Wife mentioned wanting a Scout or old Bronco a while back, as her father had both when she was young.

Picked this up from a buddy recently for a song. The 258 is about shot, and it needs other work, but the wife is happy with her first "project car"

I had a 77 Scout that thing would go anywhere. It looked about the same as that one. I bought it for 500 and fixed it up.

i'm trying to find another old jeep to piddle around with and take hunting and fishing. got too much $$$ in my truck to park it out someplace for some hairlip SOB to vandalize/steal. should have kept my brothers YJ & just put another motor in it when old one blew at 315K.....

My first vehicle was a 75 IHC Scout II xlc. Built like a tank, heavy as a tank, and rode like a tank. Mine had a 345 in it. Back then you could buy a soft top for it, maybe you still can.

Picked up some used wheels (17x9) and tires as 3 of the steel wheels that was on it has pin holes rusted in them.

She is not sure yet if she likes the looks of these, but got them at a good price. Will polish them back up eventually.

Slowly getting more and more of the red and yellow off the original blue paint. I think the 258 is DOA. She may have to have surgery on her right shoulder, so may go to an automatic trans in it.

Do have 2 others ahead of it, and a motor swap to do, but slowly rounding up parts.

Some Ford parts will fit it as well. Just FYI if your having problems finding something.

First vehicle I ever drove in the fields was an old IH Truck. I was 12, couldn't even reach the pedals, never went past 2nd gear. Bumped a few trees riding the clutch.

Some things in life you wonder why you did what you did. Sold my old '79 Scout II 4x4, 4cyl, 4 speed… I'd love to have it back, even with all the rust oxide & bondo I did.

Got the Line Setting Ticket (build sheet) today after ordering the night of April
30 (39 days total, when it says could take 6 months)

Just a bare bones Scout, but that is ok
